Pioneers lead the way in All-SVC honors

A slew of Zane Trace players topped the list in this season’s All-SVC list.
Pioneer quarterback Kirk Maxwell shared Co-offensive back of the year honors with Westfall quarterback Vinnie Williamson. ZT senior Dallas Cochenour was named defensive back of the year, Nick Ganus was named kicker of the year, and Gabe Haynes shared co-special teams player of the year honors with Paint Valley’s Wes Parker. ZT’s Ben Jones and Piketon’s Caleb Southworth were named co-defensive lineman of the year. Paint Valley’s Garrett Tyree was named punter of the year, and Adena’s Jeremiah Dehus was named offensive lineman of the year.
Zane Trace finished the SVC with a 7-0 gold ball season, and Pioneers coach Gary Peters was named coach of the year. ZT’s reserve team was also SVC champions, and Paint Valley won the SVC junior high championship.
First Team All-SVC
The following players were named First Team All- SVC: Zane Trace’s Josh Flint, Evan Dodd and Trey Moats, Westfall’s Nick Hammond, Bryan Bowling, and Shane Mills, Adena’s John Johnson and Sandy Proehl, Piketon’s Tyler Tackett and Jordan Miller, Paint Valley’s Adam Cooper and Blake Wisecup, Unioto’s Mike Eliason and Quentin Detillion, Southeastern’s Christian Colburn, and Huntington’s Morgan Masters.
